Veterinarians
Larry Millis, DVM
Dr. Millis graduated from the University of Illinois veterinary school in 1965. He started his very own practice, Millis Animal Hospital, in 1969. He takes great pride in our staff’s patient care and upholds the highest standards for his clients. Dr. Millis still comes in every morning to supervise operations and keep everything running smoothly. At home, he relaxes with his wife, Elizabeth, and two dogs, Ella and Bingo.
Tom Millis, DVM
Dr. Tom is an associate veterinarian with a special interest in surgical practice and a long-standing connection to the veterinary profession. As the son of the clinic’s founder, Dr. Tom grew up immersed in the world of animal care, developing a deep respect for both the science and compassion that define quality veterinary medicine.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Since then, Dr. Tom has built a reputation for his surgical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and steady, compassionate approach to patient care. Whether performing routine procedures or more complex surgeries, he is committed to delivering the highest standard of care and ensuring the comfort and well-being of each patient.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Tom enjoys a variety of hands-on and outdoor activities, including woodworking, gardening, and hiking. These pursuits reflect both his technical skill and his appreciation for nature—qualities that carry over into his work with animals every day.
Mark Albers, DVM
Dr. Albers is the most senior veterinarian on our team and one of our primary surgeons, bringing years of experience and a strong clinical focus to the practice. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he moved to St. Louis to attend the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Physics in 1994. He went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1998.
Known for his sharp diagnostic skills, surgical expertise, and high-energy approach, Dr. Albers is deeply committed to delivering the best possible care for his patients. He combines extensive medical knowledge with a straightforward, hands-on style that makes him a respected leader among both clients and colleagues.
Outside of work, Dr. Albers enjoys spending quality time with his wife, their three sons, and their two Pointers. A passionate outdoorsman and dedicated sportsman, he can often be found boating, skiing, or enjoying time in nature with his family and dogs.
Melissa Savage, DVM
Dr. Savage grew up in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where her love for animals began at an early age. She earned her undergraduate degree from College Misericordia in PA, and went on to pursue her veterinary degree at the University of Missouri.
With a special interest in internal medicine, Dr. Savage is passionate about finding solutions to complex health issues and helping pets live their healthiest lives. But what she treasures most about her work is being a part of the incredible bond between people and their animals.
At home, Dr. Savage stays busy with her husband, two wonderful children, and their sweet Golden Retriever, Reese. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys running, juggling (yes—actual juggling!), and coaching volleyball.
Rachel Walker, DVM
Dr. Walker was raised on a farm in Lesterville, Missouri, where her interest in animal care developed early. She decided on a career in veterinary medicine by the age of nine. After completing high school in St. Louis, she went on to earn both her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University.
Dr. Walker began her career practicing veterinary medicine in Las Vegas before returning to Missouri to be closer to family. She enjoys caring for dogs and cats and is dedicated to supporting and strengthening the human–animal bond.
Outside of work, Dr. Walker enjoys traveling—especially visiting national parks and exploring international destinations—gardening, watching LSU football, and spending time with her family. She shares her home with her pets: Hanley, an Australian Shepherd; Violet, a Golden Retriever; Atticus, Hattie, and Hamish, tabby cats; and Mingo, a Siamese cat.
Sarah Mueller, M.S., DVM
A proud native of St. Louis, Dr. Mueller was raised in Kirkwood and developed a passion for science and animals early in life—interests that naturally led her to a career in veterinary medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Truman State University and went on to complete a master’s degree in biology with a concentration in animal behavior at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Dr. Mueller then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri–Columbia (M-I-Z!).
In clinical practice, Dr. Mueller has a particular interest in managing complex medical cases and is dedicated to finding effective, compassionate solutions that enhance the quality of life for her patients.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys a full and active home life with her husband, their two children, and their beloved pets: Dixon, a Golden Retriever; Carmine, a Vizsla; and two cats, Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly. In her free time, Dr. Mueller enjoys running, baking, and supporting her children at their soccer games.
Jill Rodis, DVM
Dr. Rodis graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, she discovered her passion for animals early in life and has enjoyed a long career helping pets and their families thrive.
Dr. Rodis is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, compassionate veterinary care and values working collaboratively with clients to support their pets’ health and well-being. At home, she enjoys the company of her snake, Skittles, and her fish, Gil.
Outside of work, Dr. Rodis likes spending time on her personal interests and hobbies, always bringing the same curiosity and care to life that she brings to her practice.
Judith Dennis, DVM
Dr. Dennis was born in Kirkwood, Missouri, and raised in the St. Louis area. Growing up with a variety of pets—including small mammals, birds, fish, cats, and dogs—she developed an early and lasting interest in animal care.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2006. Throughout her training and career, Dr. Dennis has been recognized for her strong attention to detail, particularly in diagnostics and treatment planning. She is committed to providing thorough, reliable care and clear guidance to the families she works with.
Stephanie Weber, MBA, DVM
Dr. Weber graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, after earning her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and a Master of Business Administration. A St. Louis native, Dr. Weber has had a passion for animals since childhood and knew by age eight that she wanted to become a veterinarian.
She enjoys working closely with clients to find effective solutions for their pets’ medical and behavioral needs, and she approaches each case with compassion and collaboration. Dr. Weber and her husband, Greg, live in St. Louis County with their four children and a lively household of three dogs, two cats, and a guinea pig.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Weber loves cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
